Yes, the LLC can
have "Alternative Names" filed with the State. Nevertheless, if the
businesses are not related, you might be better off having separate
LLC's to limit the liability. You should check this with a good LLC
lawyer.
I hope his helps!

Subject: can she do that?
I was recently terminated from a salon and i was wondering if it is
legal for me to post on one of my websites that i an no longer employed
there and an alternate way for clients to find me. She called me today
and left a voice mail to take her name off my website or she was going
to be contacting her lawyer. I am not trying to slander her name in
anyway but since i was not allowed to have my clients contact
information i am trying to give them a way to find me.

Normally, you have the right to list your work history and contact
information on your web site. As long as you are not disparaging the
other salon, you should be okay. If you have the funds, I suggest you
contact your attorney and review the details and show your attorney the
website. I hope this helps!

Question
Name: Michael
Subject: Organizing& Incorporating my business
Question: I have a chance to start my own business, but I have no
capital. I found my location and possible investors, need to know how
do I stay in full control off ownership with the possibility of having
4 other key players and giving them to option to become partners but
still having a deal that can put me in the business owner's chair. Is
this something that I would be better off having partner's.
Answer: Michael, without capital or access to capital you are not in a
realistic position to start a business. Your matter sounds too
complicated for an e-mail answer. You should seek a business attorney
for a telephone or personal consultation. Expect to pay for an hour of
time ($300 - $500) for specific advice.
Concerning your questions, if you are to have partners or investors,
you need YOUR LAWYER to prepare the documents. Many times the "Money
People" prepare the documents and you end up working for them. If you
want to be in control the documents need to spell this out.
I hope this helps!

Subject: Registered agent submitting annual report
Hi,
My accountant is my registered agent currently and he sent me a letter from the
State of NJ, saying they're phasing out paper annual reports and now I have to
submit annual reports online and have until september 30th to do it. In the
note he enclosed, he also suggested changing the address of record.
My questions:
1) Isn't it the registered agent's responsibility to file the annual report?
2) Wouldn't I HAVE to use his address (currently listed) if he's the registered
agent?
It doesn't sit well with me, and I'm looking for a lawyer in bergen county
(hudson, essex, or passaic are ok too) to deal with annual reports and whatever
filing needs to be done, and also to serve as my registered agent.

First, it is unusual for an accountant to be the Registered Agent. Frequently,
it is best to have an attorney be the Registered Agent and Office so if any law
suits are filed, your attorney will get notice.
Because NJ is going to online filing, many clients act as their own registered
agent and office. It is the duty of the Corporation or LLC to submit the annual
registration.
I hope this helps!
